As a client said to me recently, “I’m always reminding people what the A in AI stands for.” Oh, right: artificial.
So as we move beyond the first order concern about when AI will take our jobs to trying to figure out how to make the most of this incredible technology in our world of work, it’s important to remember the complexity of human relationships. That puts anything relational at the top of the list of things that AI can enhance but is unlikely to solve on its own.
As a leader, you still need to be mindful about: building trust and psychological safety, hiring for emotional intelligence and empathy, fostering and making space for creative collaboration, relationship building, and, frankly, more and more helping remote workers feel less isolated.
The key is using AI to eliminate tedious work so leaders and teams have more time and energy for meaningful human connections that drive engagement, innovation, and long-term success.
If you're ready to help your team maximize AI's potential while strengthening human connections, let's talk. I work with leaders to develop strategies that use technology to amplify—not replace—the relational skills that drive real business outcomes.
